Grace For Growth

Does Your Old Wine Skin Need to Be Thrown Out?

Luke 5:37-39 AMP tells us that new wine cannot be put into old wine skins; the old cannot handle the new, and it says those drinking this wine are satisfied with the old. During this time, wine was kept in goat-skin flasks—a prophetic picture of people living in their flesh. Wine is a metaphor for New life in Christ, ongoing, tangible Spiritual nourishment, and transformation. New wine skins are soft and stretchy; old wine skins are dry, stiff, and brittle. Are we keeping our minds and hearts soft and stretchy for change? Or are we staying dry, stiff, and unchangeable? Saying our old ways are fine.

ARE YOU COMFORTABLE IN YOUR OLD WINE SKIN?

Resistant to growth and change, rigid religious traditions, habitual habits, closed-minded and controlling, stifling unbelief and ignoring the Holy Spirit

OR

ARE YOU READY FOR A NEW WINE SKIN?

Relationship not religion: repentance to new life, a pliable, humble and teachable heart embracing the tangible presence and power of the Holy Spirit for ongoing mind renewal to stretch beliefs, becoming God's people who can hold more of Him.

SURRENDING TO SPIRITUAL GROWTH SHEDS OLD WINE SKINS

CHANGE AND GROWTH DON'T HAPPEN IN OUR COMFORT ZONE: THEY BLOOM ON THE BATTLEFIELD OF TRIALS AND TESTINGS

Don't stay rigid and unteachable, keeping your version of our God in a box- the box of limited human possibilities. The new wine is being poured out; do you want a new infilling? Stay thirsty for the Holy Spirit; yield to His control for change.

...we were all made to drink of one (Holy) Spirit (since the same Holy Spirit fills each life). 1Corth.12:13AMP

"You call out to God for help and He helps-He's a good father that way. But don't forget, He's also a responsible Father, and won't let you get by with sloppy living.

1 Peter 1:17 MSG

Families are the Future

It’s all about being others-driven. Next-generation mindset: Legacy is a love for setting others up to do what God calls them to, especially for our children. Start by praying together as a family, reading God’s word, sharing your faith stories, and intentionally passing on spiritual values to build a lasting family legacy rooted in Christ.

Living in this mindset of legacy love will birth fathers and mothers who focus on nurturing and building their marriages and the children they bring into the world. Selfless acts of putting God and family at the forefront of their busy lives will flow out of their hearts. Our children are not commodities, not to be treated transactionally; no, they are a gift from God to be treasured and given the best relationship possible from us, the most important part of our lives.

Go ahead, build your career and give yourself to your work. But if you put me first, you’ll see your family built up!

Proverbs 24:27 TPT

Build a life union with God. This union comes through God’s Spirit. Our friend, the Holy Spirit, is our life's guidance: His promptings, His sweet whispers of direction, His foresight into our futures. He saves us from ourselves by illuminating those wrong choices and wrong ways of thinking. He is the wellspring of flourishing and peace.

Our sole reliance on the friendship of the Holy Spirit, becoming one with God, is through daily intimacy in prayer and His word. Have daily diligence to renew the mind according to His word. This Life union is our only way to growth; it leads to the road of transformation, faith, family, and purpose. It's God’s highway of Holiness.

Seek God’s kingdom, and everything else will be added and come together. The Holy Spirit will show you the way, the truth, and the real life to live. The Spirit who is your friend and counselor will guide you through your everyday life, even in the mundane parts. He is there and will show up.                                 Psalms 91, Matt.6:33, John 15:1-8,

Give Him Your Time: He gives back:

Now, my beloved ones, I have saved these most important truths for last: Be supernaturally infused with strength through your life-union with the Lord Jesus. Stand victorious with the force of his explosive power flowing in and through you. Eph. 6:10 TPT
